Laura Walker State Park, GA

Laura Walker State Park is near Waycross in southern GA.  This state park is located on the lake, with a view from most sites.  The campsites are large with water and electric hookups.  They are situated well so that you do not stare into your neighbors’ sites, but the campground is very open.  It is a quiet campground with lots to do, including, golfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, and hiking.  They have a playground, dog park and lots of pavilions.  There is not a lot in the area, but there are many small southern towns with some good local restaurants.  In addition, the park is near Okefenokee Swamp.  We loved staying here and hope to return.  It has all of the things that we really love to do and the location on the lake is perfect.
