Curry Hammock State Park, FL

I refer to this park as a small piece of paradise and feel incredibly lucky to have stayed here for almost two weeks.  We booked this site exactly 11 months ago at 8am when the reservations opened and felt like we hit the lottery when we snagged our site.  As we drove through the park and pulled into our site, we could not believe our luck! The site was large, relatively private, and had a beautiful water view.  We spent a lot of time just sitting back and enjoying our home for two weeks.  We spent time enjoying the view, watching the kite surfers, and kayaking.  The location in Marathon was perfect for exploring anywhere in keys.  Marathon is in the middle keys, so it is an easy day trip down to Key West or up to Key Largo.  As an added bonus, there is so much to do in Marathon you might never need to leave the island.  This is one of our very favorite campgrounds, but there are a couple of things about the campground to know before going: the sites have electric and water but no sewer, there is no laundry, it is a quiet & peaceful park, and the beaches are covered in seaweed (not the pristine white sand beaches like most of Florida). Did I mention it was just like paradise?
